The School is run by the Friends of the Porkies in cooperation with the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. The Friends is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the visitor park experience. The Folk School provides a spectacular location to teach, organization of student registration, infrastructure, and advertising. Please be advised that we expect our workshops to emphasize a philosophy of “safety, fun and learning.” The safety of our participants should be at the forefront of every instructor's mind during course development as well as during the actual workshop. We are asking potential instructors to send in the form above, which will be reviewed by a committee. We look forward to hearing from you.
